Marcellin Business Network Breakfast March 2017

What a beautiful autumn morning to venture out early into Abbotsford for our first Business Breakfast for 2017.

Breaking with tradition we held this event in the beautiful warehouse and showrooms of James Richardson Furniture. A fabulous place for this gathering, surrounded by the old brick walls and some very desirable furniture pieces.  Our host and major sponsor for the year, Brett Guest welcomed the group

Our caterer provided a delicious range of healthy (ok and some not so healthy!) breakfast foods, and most importantly a ‘proper’ coffee machine.

Again breaking with tradition, we didn’t have an official guest speaker, rather Kellie Carbone (a parent at the school) brought in a mannequin and various material samples etc and discussed the importance of presentation and dressing well.  Kellie’s family business (Carbone Master Tailors) is in it’s third generation and we thank Kellie for her generosity on the morning and for offering to donate a percentage of sales to the Foundation. (If you would like a voucher to Carbones please contact us in the Foundation Office).

We also heard from Mark Cooper (Head of the Business Network) who spoke about plans for 2017, and from Mark Murphy (Principal) who enlightened the group about the Bursary fund and it’s importance to the Marcellin community.

There was a lot of networking taking place which was the main focus for the day.  It’s a great way of finding out what is on offer in our great community and to take advantage of others skills and businesses.

What a great start to our Business Network year, thank you to those who attended, and we would love to encourage many more of our community to ‘jump on board’.
